There is something about challah that is uniquely different from any other kind of bread. It speaks to our soul, it evokes images of a warm home, a family meal, peaceful times. It whispers of tradition and generations long ago.

Why do we cover our Challah?

​

Each morning the Israelites found the manna in the fields, encased in two layers of dew to preserve its freshness.... Thus, we place the challot beneath a challah cover and over a tablecloth (or challah board) to recreate the miracle of the manna at our own Shabbat or Yom Tov table.
